So, here are some tips to help you take care of your délica, so you can wear them for years to come!
CARE TIPS FOR YOUR PEARL
Pearls are organic gemstones and the best way to take care of them is to wear them often! Originating from water bodies, the moisture from the air and the natural oil secreted from our skin daily benefits the pearl!
As much as we recommend wearing your pearls often, exposure to perfume, soap and excess oil can harm your pearl. If your pearl comes in contact with any of this, gently wipe your pearl with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Pearls are organic matter, avoid hard, rough and sharp objects. This could risk scratches and cuts.
CARE TIPS FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
Tip 1: Remove your jewellery before, exercising, showering and sleeping. The sweat, water and impact from these activities may weaken your jewellery.
Tip 2: Avoid contact with chemicals! This includes seawater, soap, perfume and cosmetics. The chemicals found in these may cause your jewellery to loss its shine and colour. Wear your jewellery as a finishing touch after make up & applying perfume.
Tip 3: Never use a silver polishing cloth on your gold filled & gold vermeil jewellery! This will quickly damage and remove the gold. Keep the silver polishing cloth for only your silver jewellery.
CLEANING YOUR JEWELLERY
- Sweat is difficult to avoid, as such it is recommended to clean your jewellery with water & diluted dish soap after each wear.
- The diluted dish soap helps remove the oil and dirt on the jewellery.
- Remember to dry your jewellery with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
- Lastly, wrap your jewellery in linen, soft cloth or place in the jewellery pouch provided. Avoid keeping more than one piece in a bag to avoid bumping and scratches.
- Do not store your pearl jewellery in an airtight packaging as pearls need moisture from the surrounding air. If the pearl has been kept in a dry environment for too long, it may crack.
